BIOGRAPHY OF XUAN NGUYEN

WFG CHAIRMAN'S COUNCIL MEMBER XUAN NGUYEN

When Xuan Nguyen was a boy, he often looked out of his window and let his imagination run free. He wondered what it would be like to be a bird, to soar high above the earth, to view the world from a perch high in a tree. He pondered what it would feel like to see the world, to visit places he had never imagined before.

Years later, through World Financial Group, Xuan has flown to places around the world and reached the heights of his career.

"The journey of a person will never be completed unless you are able to expand your vision and see all that life can offer you, both physically and mentally," Xuan said. "I always wanted to find new things, see new places and explore new thought."

Xuan grew up in Vietnam without a lot of money, often watching his father struggle with his own business. Xuan's father died when he was young, prompting Xuan to work while he was still in high school to help support his mother, a housewife, and the rest of his large family.

"That was a big challenge for me," Xuan said. "I had to find my way, and I had to pay for myself to find my way."

When Xuan started at WFG, he intended to work there just as long as it took him to become financially independent, and then slow down and/or retire. Little did he know when he first began, World Financial Group had more in store for his future.

"I've found that in this business, the more you work, the stronger you feel and the harder you work, and the happier you feel," Xuan said. "That is the secret - and the beauty - of this business."

Xuan met his wife, Hoa, in college, but at the time they were just friends. As with many young couples, their lives took them in different directions following college.. With the fall of Saigon and the end of the Vietnam War, Xuan fled the country and came to the United States, where he found work as a social worker. It would be this new career helping others that would play a role in bringing the love of his life back to him in a very different world.

As people were fleeing Vietnam and coming to the United States, there were a variety of organizations helping the refugees start a new life. Xuan volunteered as a resettlement worker at the reception center of one of the many refugee camps. It was there that fate intervened.

"Then, there Hoa came in with her family," said Xuan, smiling. "So the whole thing started at a refugee camp."

Over the years, Xuan and Hoa have found the perfect balance between work, family and charity. They keep their lives clutter-free, live simply, and everything they do - they do it together. In the end, Xuan found that involving his family in his business helped them to understand each other much better, and he encourages other couples to do the same.

"This is real life," Xuan said. "You cannot separate business and family, and you cannot give up something that is important to you."

The WFG business model touches a chord with Xuan, who loves that someone can go from nowhere to somewhere, that someone small can become someone big.

"With WFG, someone who's not a business-minded person can become successful," Xuan said. "The story we share is the glory song of the human spirit."

He dedicates every day to building the business, system and most importantly, the people. Xuan considers the people he works with and those he gets to meet to be among the greatest joys of his day.

"You can never compare having millions, and feeling like a million bucks," Xuan said. "That feeling comes with the business you're doing - you made it, you are successful, you have a purpose, you make a difference, and you become somebody."
